Expert Problem Solver
In Patrick's selfishness (he is an only child right now, after all) to collect all his toys and play with them all at the same time, he discovered an interesting problem last night. He only has two hands, so how is he supposed to play with a third toy too? Here was his final solution:

He uses his feet like hands all the time anyway, so why not play with toys with his feet too? Here's a close-up of that foot-hand.
Apparently Patrick's attitude toward new people, especially Nana, has changed since yesterday. Perhaps he was just too tired yesterday afternoon and that's why he exhibited all the normal symptoms of stranger anxiety. Either way, this morning he couldn't get enough of Nana. He's been reaching for her the way he reaches for me, and he even broke out into a tortured scream one time when she left the room. He belly laughed at her feet and wants to play incessantly with her. Our favorite moment is when he tucked his head up under Nana's chin and leaned against her shoulder, his favorite snuggle position. He certainly knows how to get anything he wants from his grandparents!

One more non-Nana-related note: Yesterday evening, Patrick stood completely on his own for all of about 1.471 seconds, give or take .01-ish. Nana and I had been helping him stand, and he seemed balanced enough that we let go for a second--and he stayed there! I still can't believe it. I'm guessing it's a fluke that won't be repeated for some time, but I know now that if he tries really hard, he can stand.

What a talented child!! I bet he increases his interest in standing more each day. I love the pictures. I knew he wouldn't have "anxiety" from Nana long.

He is too cute and what a great pic of him and his nana :) Randie has those rings as well...and she really likes them. Don't try standing him on his feet too much.. don't want him to damage those adorable legs!!
